Scandinavian Retreat | Newberg, OR
After a trip to Finland, I knew I wanted to design something that was inspired by that experience. What was once a 1984 Ranch design is now a Nordic home sitting in the middle of the Willamette Valley wine country. The main focus really isn't about the house - it's about the incredible views! Every window looks to frame the artwork; which is quite literally the nature surrounding the home. The landscape was the driving factor in the material choices - Quartzite countertops, Oregon Ash carpentry throughout the home, handmade tiles for the organic textures, and a fairly monochromatic color palette to create a soothing environment.
